It's probably just as well I ended up not planning on YAPC; last week was the whirlwind family reunion with the step-adopted-in-laws, and while I like road trips, I'm not sure I'd be up to an 11-hour solo drive this weekend, coming off a pair of 6-hour semi-solo (me plus an almost-eight-year-old, which is slightly MORE difficult than a solo) drives.

I'm tempted, instead, to make this week a one-person Wirebird hackathon, to push the next release out.

Having a house full of ducks has cut into my Wirebird time.

The ducks (yes, actual, literal ducks) are out of the house now, but I still haven't had much Wirebird time. And the more I look at the way email is headed, the more I'm inclined to just jump on board an existing webforum project and steer it in a saner direction. ("There's this newfangled thing called 'NNTP'...")

Ominous as the preceding post may have sounded, I haven't abandoned the project. I'm going to back up a little and write all the documentation, since I think that's going to be pretty essential to getting anyone else on board. I may wrap up the almost-done release first, just to give the Phoenyx a more stable platform for now, though.
